Here, we make art to make a difference. We are a nonprofit visual arts center in San Francisco where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit, and sell original art.
Creativity Explored provides a nurturing studio environment for artists with developmental disabilities in which they receive individualized instruction from mentoring artists, quality art materials, and professional opportunities to exhibit and sell their work. By developing a meaningful art practice and creating a body of work, Creativity Explored artists acquire an expanded sense of self, realizing their potentials, amplifying their voices, and more fully establishing themselves in the world.
As you may know, half the proceeds from the sale of each artwork in our gallery and website go directly to our artists. The other half partially underwrites our gallery operations. The teaching and the making of art in our studios, though, depends on charitable donations from generous people like you. Donors enable us to help pay our professional faculty, rent our workspace, purchase materials, and operate both of our studios. Last year alone, our supporters helped us to change the lives of over 125 artists with developmental disabilities.
